Your Job May Be The Culprit Behind Money's Grip On Your Life

December 01, 20232 min read

We need 3 things for a great life - Health, Time, and Money, and each of them affects the other even when we don't realize it.

For many, Money is the piece that, when missing, has the biggest grip on their lives, and how you choose to earn your money is the root of that.

😰 😰 Quite often, the job you choose becomes the detriment to your time and health as earn more money 😰 😰

What if making money could get easier, quicker and without sacrificing as much of your time & health?

You can! Knowing the right questions to ask yourself BEFORE you are under the gun to take a job 'now' will make the process of finding the right fit less stressful and faster.

The first 5 things you need to ask yourself whether you are looking for a full-time or part-time income are:

  1. What is the minimum amount of money you need to make every month in your first 3 months to make a difference in your life? And how much a month would you like to be making 1 year from starting?

  2. How many hours a week will you commit to working to make that money? Consider your family commitments as well as other jobs and school commitments.

  3. Do you need something flexible, or can you commit to specific time frames and ensure you can show up no matter what? For example, most customer service jobs require you to commit to a shift (e.g. 2-6pm) and you must be able to be at your desk answering the phone during that time, so if you need to take care of a baby that might not be the right job for you. If you think being a realtor may be a fit, is your schedule flexible enough to work nights & weekends.

4. Every job option has skill set requirements that make it a successful option for the right person. Knowing what your abilities and preferences are ahead of time increases your rate of success. It’s important to know:

  • What you like to do

  • What you can do but not enjoy it

  • What you hate to do

  • What you have no idea how to do

5. Is this a short-term or long-term situation you are solving? For many people, you can do just about anything 'short-term' while you figure some things out. If you can do it for a week or two, it might be worth it.

We all “Do not know what we do not know”. There are many jobs available that you probably never ever thought of or ‘thought you knew what they were’, and the truth is you didn’t.

New options show up every day, and you are NOT the same person with the same thoughts & needs you were 1 or 2 or 5 years ago so it's always good to review options!
